![]() Title: Why Cats are Assholes Author: Liz Miele Illustrator: Chelsea Trousdale Publisher: Skyhorse Publication Date: 30 March 2021 Genre: #Humor #AnimalHumor #Cat #Dog #CultureHumor #NonFiction #Comedy Book Excerpt: The Ancient Egyptians saw their usefulness and didn’t just like them and make an Instagram account for them or develop a sock line with their face on it. They worshipped them. They made temples in their honor. It was a crime to kill them. I feel like we’ve lost touch with this. Did you know Australia is trying to exterminate all stray cats? Supposedly it is because they are hurting the wild bird population. How is this not a recipe for trouble when they wipe out cats and start to realize all the unseen good they do? Like how we hate bees but the earth would crumble if they went extinct (more on this later). Moral of the story: cats are important, and their viral videos are what hold the Internet together!... bout the Author and Illustrator: Liz Miele began doing stand-up at age sixteen in New York City, and was profiled in the New Yorker magazine two years later. She has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham and This Week at the Comedy Cellar, as well as NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and Hulu’s Coming to the Stage. A Native of New Jersey, Miele has toured the world sharing her hilarious stories about life, feminism, sex, and, of course, cats. She has three albums you can stream or buy, Emotionally Exhausting, Mind Over Melee, and Self Help Me, which is also a free special on YouTube. Visit www.lizmiele.com for future tour dates. Chelsea Trousdale is an illustrator and designer, currently based in Utah. She received her BFA in illustration from BYU. Trousdale has two studio assistant cats named Mac and Dillion, who are both very unhelpful but a great source of inspiration. You can view her work on her website at www.chelseatrousdale.com or on her Instagram @chelsea_trousdale. If you are a cat lover, this book is for you and you will be able to relate to its contents.

I have two cats and a dog, and they are a daily learning experience! I love the name of this book, and your comments have me wanting to read it. Cats are so hard to understand at times. And their personalities are totally different. I appreciate the rodent and reptile removal service we have, and in a rural home that is needed.
