If you are not familiar with this series, it is set in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine. Jessica Fletcher is the main sleuth. She is a retired English teacher and widow turned mystery writer. Seth Hazlitt is the town's doctor and Mort Metzger is the town’s sheriff. Harry McGraw is a New York City Private Investigator and Jessica’s friend. Other characters listed at the front of the book helps to keep names straight while following the story plot. The story takes place at Cabot Cove Hill House Hotel where Jessica is living while her home at 698 Candlewood Drive is undergoing renovations. The inn gets crowded when a wedding party arrives, and a historic blizzard dumps a huge amount snow on the town leaving people stranded. It would not be Murder, She Wrote without a murder or two or more. Murder of Twelve has Agatha Christie vibes of And Then There Were None when someone starts killing off the guest, one by one. No worries. Jessica is on the scene and puts all her sleuthing skills to work. With her usual sidekicks unable to venture to Hill House Jessica enlists the help of Seamus McGilray, the hotel owner. Who are the members of the wedding party and why are they being murdered? Can Sheriff Metzger get to Hill House in the blizzard? How can Jessica’s friend and private investigator, Harry McGraw, help from far away New York? Will Jessica and Seamus be able to solve the murders before the blizzard is over or will everyone at Hill House be found dead after the storm? This is a page-turner with action packed scenes that makes you want to continue reading to find out if you caught all the red herrings and followed all the clues to reach the same conclusion as the ending.
